Based on our school’s mission of “inheriting the past and ushering in the future, shaping a new social culture, and cultivating talents with exceptional minds,” and in response to the societal need for psychological reform, our institute was established in August 2002. This was built upon the existing educational programs and integrated with faculty from various psychology-related fields within the school.

Initially, the institute enrolled 10 students. Due to the enthusiastic response and the desire of many individuals with practical experience to enhance their theoretical knowledge, the enrollment number was increased to 12 students starting from the 2004 academic year. Of these, 4 were admitted through a selection process, and 8 through general admissions. In the 2006 academic year, the school approved an additional slot, but in the 2007 academic year, the number was reverted to 12. In the 2012 academic year, due to adjustments in the school’s enrollment quotas, the number of admissions increased to 15, and in the 2014 academic year, it further increased to 23. By the 2016 academic year, the enrollment number reached 27. From the establishment of the institute in the 2002 academic year to the 2024 academic year, a total of 428 students have been admitted over 23 cohorts, with a 100% registration rate each year.

Given the trend of younger individuals requiring psychological counseling and the increasing emphasis on the professionalism of school counseling work, as well as the interplay between learning and psychological issues affecting students’ problems, our institute has not implemented group teaching since its inception. This has become a distinctive feature and highlight of our institute. In terms of professional course design, in addition to offering courses in the “Counseling Theory and Practice” field, we also provide courses related to “Learning and Counseling.” Therefore, the professionals we cultivate not only possess general psychological counseling expertise but also have the ability to diagnose and counsel learning issues, further helping clients enhance themselves through learning. By simultaneously studying courses in both educational psychology and counseling, we aim to enhance the employability of our students. Our graduates find employment in various fields, including education, counseling, and comprehensive applications such as corporate training, human resources, and management.
